Druhý díl svého běsnění nám připravili nadšenci z běloruského Molodechna – Stickoxydal. A rovnou můžu říct, že se jim zase moc povedl!
Obhroublý, drtící, smažící a devastující gore grind, který si vzal to nejlepší z klasiky od Dead Infection, přes Gut, Regurgitace až po CBT. Zvuk stejně jako na minulé fošně skvělý, je slyšet každá notička, až se vám z toho budou ouška rolovat jako předkožka. Muzika má intenzitu, hutnost a rychlost útoku bílého nosorožce a v pár sekundách z vás nadělá fašírku a mastnej flek.
Takže jedinou změnou oproti minulu je to, že se z tria stalo kvarteto, kytarista Cutlass si vzal na starost jenom backing vocals a za hlavní mikrák se postavil sólový dávič Carno. Ten už ale i na Perverted… dělal všechny texty, takže to asi bude původem nějaká stickoxydlácká persona v pozadí, nebo nadšený fanda, kterej kolem kapely kroužil tak dlouho, až ho nakonec chalani vzali do svých řad (Sakra, to je mi nějaký povědomý – zdravím tímto Klva a D.R., jsem zvědavej, co předvedete v Trutnově!). O jeho kvalitách ale netřeba pochybovat, páč jeho hrdelní kreace jsou jedna báseň.
Zkrátka u téhle fošny nemůžete prohloupit a jedinou nepodstatnou výtkou tak ode mě zůstává ten prapodivně podivnej přebal téhle humusnické konzervy. Bravo!
Jo ještě jedna věc na konec: Nenechte se stejně jako já zmást tím, že je na obale avizovaných osmadvacet skladeb a přehrávač vám jich ukazuje jen 24, ty poslední čtyři vály se někam zatoulaly mezi masteringem a lisovnou, což bohužel Roman zjistil až po rozesetí materiálu mezi lidi. Inu chybička se občas vloudí!  [04. 02. 2008]

Команда «Газы»! Мы ждались-ждались, чуть не обосрались, но всё-таки дождались! Самое громкое гринд-событие сезона! Новый альбом молодцов-храбрецов из Моло Stickoxydal «Obstetrical Collection» уже в Беларуси! Не знаю как вы, а я ночью не спал в ожидании этого альбома… Многие спорили-гадали, как же будет звучать, выглядеть и что в целом будет представлять из себя новый релиз группы. Резонанс был серьёзный, т.к. по плану альбом должен был вмещать в себя 30-песенный трек-лист (согласитесь, то, что группа увеличивает калибр только радует), музыка будет в ключе предыдущих альбомов + мастеринг, который должен был проводиться не где-нибудь, а на чешкой скотобойне «Bizarre Leprous Production». А это вам не в жопу пальцем тыкать.
И ожидания были оправданы. «Коллекция» представляет собой качественный европейский гриндовый альбом с продолжительным временем звучания, с качественным жирным звуком, классным материалом и прикольным оформлением. Сразу предупреждаю, это слегка не тот Stickoxydal, который мы знали по двум предыдущим альбомам. Первые две прокрутки мне было как-то сложно слушать эту пластинку. Наверное, группа приобрела слишком непривычное звучание. В альбом надо вкуриться, медленно въезжать в нововведения и тонкости. Музыка стала более серьёзная, cutlass усложнил гитарные партии, carno поработал над вокалами, так что теперь мы можем слышать всю палитру его возможностей – это утробный гроулинг, чистый хрюк, гортанный хрипящий хрюк, пьяные вопли и прикольные распевочки. Звучание вокала тоже изменилось. На мой взгляд, старый вариант (без мастеринга) звучал интереснее, хотя это дело каждого. Барабаны по-прежнему электронные, но в целом всё ровненько, разнообразно и насыщенно.
Особенно мне, как любителю замороченных буклетов и креативных выебосов, понравилась «Акушерская медсанкниженция». Буклет нового альбома – это праздник минимализма, детских каков-маляков и интересных идей. Клыня – чувак, который оформил компакт, взрывает мозг. Каки-маляки в буклете дают полную свободу воображения. Кто-то видит на рисунке бабу с круглой мандой, а кто-то Буратино на пружинке. Именно этого я так давно и ждал.
Но без горя не обошлось. В треклисте вы видите 28 треков, но… на диске же вы найдёте только 24. Вот такой наебосик. Это не ошибка группы. Изначально для альбома «Obstetrical Collection» и было записано 28 песенок, но профессора на «BLP» случайно рассыпали жменьку новых песен. Для того чтобы никого не обижать и исправить это недоразумение парни из Stickoxydal выложили на скачку эти четыре трека на своём оф.сайте http://stickoxydal.com/eng-media-oc.html. Так что флаг в руки!
В целом, пластинка просто замечательная. На мой взгляд «Obstetrical Collection» будет альбомом-прыжком в дискографии группы, трамплином для серьёзных действий, открытий и мировых релизов. Он удовлетворит всех настоящих поклонников группы + привлечёт внимание к группе свежих слушателей. Хороший, качественный, позитивный, сочный, классный альбом. Улыбайтесь! Grind oN! [27.03.2008]

Quel plaisir de glisser sa main dans son obscure boite aux lettres dans l’espoir d’y sentir le toucher caractéristique du papier kraft qui renferme secrètement une jolie rondelle de plastique irisée… Bon, après, tout est une affaire de contenu, mais cette petite décharge d’adrénaline est toujours plaisante, surtout lorsqu’on ne s’y attend pas…
Et le coup du Goregrind biélorusse qui tape l’incruste à l’improviste dans ma mailbox, j’y aurais pas pensé !
He oui, STICKOXYDAL est (encore une fois) dans la place !
Le lecteur averti aura remarqué que le combo venant tout droit du Belarus aura déjà été mit a mal dans ces colonnes, puisque « The Perverted Position Of Interiors », premier album du quatuor, m’a déjà glissé entre les paluches il y a quelques temps. Autant prévenir tout de suite, il n’y a pas véritablement de changement au niveau de la tambouille qui crépira votre platine après l’achat (justifié) de cet « Obstetrical Collection ». On reste dans un domaine a cheval entre Goregrind type TU CARNE et Death Metal Old School. Cependant, nos amis de l’est ont beaucoup, beaucoup mûri ! En effet, la où le précédent opus laissait planer une certaine folie toute empreinte d’un grindcore jeune et frais, (y’avait même des ptites blagounettes genre « Schnappi, das kleine Krokodil ») nous retrouvons aujourd’hui nos grinders sur un terrain bien plus mature, plus sérieux (bon, c’est pas académique non plus).
On retrouve ces grosses guitares qui mangent une grosse partie du spectre audio, et assurent un groove incomparable, cette batterie qui n’est pas sans rappeler des combos tchèques tels que DESTRUCTIVE EXPLOSION OF ANAL GARGLAND, et cette voix, qui parfois donne dans le gros gore pitché, souvent dans le gruik, et s’adonne même parfois à des beuglements Hardcore. Le tout est assez homogène (« Mûr » on t’a dit ! Tout cela semble bien rôdé) et on ne s’ennuie pas le moins du monde même si le style est loin d’être varié, et même plutôt lourdaud. « Obstetrical Collection » n’est pas un stuff qui s’écoute 3 fois de suite, c’est assez lourd, assez compact et peu aéré… 26 titres, pas l’ombre d’une intro, que des grosses grattes et du blast (relativement rare) : C’est un peu pataud, mais c’est efficace !
On regrettera ce côté un peu retenu de STICKO mais il semblerait que c’est une marque de fabrique désormais, les boys ont trouvé leur style. Plus qu’a croiser les doigts pour qu’il ne s’endorment pas et qu’ils sachent le faire évoluer.

Fukking awsome band i discovered yesterday and i wonder how it took me so long. they play crazy gore grind in the veins of C.B.T, ROMPERPROP, THE DAY EVERYTHING BECAME NOTHING etc... slow grooves and guttural pitch shifted abnormal vocals transformed into grind attacks and screaching chants and as i said they are from Maladzechna belarus wich is cool cause i never saw a gore grind band from there before. they are signed on BIZZARE LEPROUS PROD. realy good czech grind label with bands like SUBLIME CADAVERIC DECOMPOSITION, JIG AI, ROMPERPROP, MINCING FURY AND GUTTURAL CLAMOUR OF QWEER DEACY and more.

Belarusian goregrinders Stickoxydal are back with their second full length offering on Czech label Bizarre Leprous Productions. Their first effort, The Perverted Position of Interiors, was a simplistic catchy lo-fi goregrind effort that captured my attention. I quickly became addicted to the band’s style and eagerly awaited the release of their follow-up full length offering.
Obstetrical Collection was released in 2007 and I wasn’t able to get my hands on a copy until recently, but it was well worth the wait. Obstetrical Collection contains 28 tracks of the band’s patented lo-fi aural assault clocking in at just under 34 minutes.
This effort picks up right where The Perverted Position of Interiors left off. The band continues to play high tempo simplistic goregrind in the vein of Utopie, Gut and Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition with distorted grinding riffs, drum kit destroying blasts and a dual vocal high pitched pig squeal/guttural gurgle assault. The songs are short and catchy with riffs that’ll get your head bobbing and feet tapping to the beat.
Unlike most goregrind outfits Stickoxydal don’t rely on pitchshifted vocals or a demoniacally heavy guitar and bass tone, instead using more traditional brutal death metal vocals and higher pitched grindcore guitar tone, which is unsurprising considering the material was mastered by Brain of Jig-Ai. While Stickoxydal aren’t anything spectacular musically they’re extremely good at what they do, which is writing simple goregrind that’s easy and fun to listen to.
If you liked The Perverted Position of Interiors you’ll be pleased to hear not much has changed with the band’s sound or musical approach. If you haven’t heard of them before it’s a safe bet you’ll like them if you’re a fan of Jig-Ai, Utopie and Destructive Explosion of Anal Garland and if you aren’t then fuck you.

Mr. Polacek of BLP sent me an album by this Belarus band not too long back, but it was unfortunately cracked and buggered in the post, but luckily here's another of theirs, their most recent full length studio album, and the newest release since their split with mouthfillingly monikered Russian band, Septicopyemia and perverted Ukranian grinders, Ebanath. In the pic in their Metal Archives entry, Stickoxydal might look like a mildly successful Oasis-clone from the Brit-pop boom period of the 1990s, such as Northern Uproar, Heavy Stereo or Coast, but there are no jangly acoustic guitars, no riffs pilfered from the Gallaghers, and no soarin' melodies to be found on here, ‘cos Stickoxydal play good ol' groovy goregrind!
Slithery riffs ooze out of bog-tuned guitars, the bouncy percussion gets you wadin' through the gelatinous mire in a jolly, carefree sort of fashion, whilst frogs, crickets and miscellaneous pond-life provide the hilarious vox. Stylistically, I'd say this combines the groovin' arse-wiggle of the Czech scene with the bulldozer bondage-lust of German pornogrind, then adds silly Netherlands gore, and maybe just a smudge of US brootal deathliness. Although there are of course splattity blast beats at play here, the kitman doesn't try to crush your head off with unremittin' blasts, usin' ever so slightly more restrained yet no less robust rhythms to allow for greater seepage of groove which, in my book, is lovely. The vox, which get lobbed out of two different gobs, are just the kind of thing I like to hear daubed all over such goregrind as this; they're not pitchshifted into a simmerin' gut-mire (which is of course fine, I love to hear that sort of sloshiness poured all over my goregrind too), they're all natural as far as I can tell, pullin' all manner of vox tricks out of the bag, with each mouth bringin' a rich variety of textures and flavours to the thing, in the manner of many of my favourite Czechgrind outfits. On the whole, each tune has the right bits, but sometimes the riffs sound a bit too slackened, and seem to sort of slither out o' time a wee bit, and the percussion seems to struggle to tighten it up, which does bugger the groove-flow a bit and makes some bits sound a bit cack-handed, but luckily it gets pulled back together again not long after each of these gaffes.
Right away, you can hear influences such as Rompeprop, Cock and Ball Torture, old Last Days of Humanity, some Gut, perhaps Squash Bowels, a bit of The Day Everything Became Nothing, maybe Utopie, and Noxious Coitus, y'know, all the groovy greats, along with classic stuff from the old gore-guard, such as Dead Infection and Regurgitate. Along with that, there's quite a bit of Czechgrind thrustin' rampantly through this, so if you're into stuff like Destructive Explosion of Anal Garland, Reek of Shits, Jig-Ai (but less streamlined than that gleamin' chrome machine) and old Ahumado Granujo, then this ought to get your head goin' right away. On the more brootal death side of the coin, I think you can hear some of the less serious, more pornogrindified bands from the style in amongst all of this groovin' throbbery, such as Cumgun, and maybe old Amputated.
Production is quite alright, but a bit scratchy, maybe a bit sparse in parts, but well-mixed overall, probably not quite the sort of thing you'd refer to as ‘beefy', but it still has a fair amount of punch about it, along with quite a lot of fuzz, and probably enough scuzz, but without losin' any of the important cuttin' catchiness. Overall, it's a good and dirty, sewerous type of sound quality which is ideal for the music that rattles, surges and sloshes along therein.
When it comes to lyrical themes, they've got a fun combination of pathological terminology and mild daftness, what with such titles as "My Favourite Embryotomy Scissors", "Spondylotomy", "Rectovaginal fistula or perineal rupture 3rd degree", "Sonata cis-moll for obstetrician making application of forceps Naegele", "Hunt the Cunt" (incidentally you get part one, two, three and four of that on here), but unfortunately there are pedestrian gore-themes here as well, what with unimaginative fodder such as "Bleeding Hole" and "Fear of the Vaginal Birth". Nothing on here is as funny as the title "The Kidney Torned off Together with a Vascular Leg" (!!) from their last album! Hohohoho!
Overall then, a nice modern day goregrind album, with a wee bit of an old skool tint to it. I liked it quite a lot, and if you're into any of the above-cited bands, then you ought to like it too.
